Job Requirements Overall Objective and Purpose

Generates test documentation and executes tests to verify that the system performs as required. Works independently, and mentors junior resources. Organizes, designs, and plans activities required for the test effort.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Develops test documentation.
• Performs tests.
• Secures, organizes, and maintains test environment.
• Assist in coordinating, preparing, and presenting software products to customer.
• Coordinates the work of junior resources.
• Participates in project meetings and meetings with the customer.
• Applies principles and techniques to evaluate systems during development.
• Recording, reporting, and tracking defects to accurately depict the status of the system.
• Identify scope of testing activities.
• Assess risk and maximize test effectiveness by prioritizing and sequencing testing.
• Identify test techniques and tools that ensure product quality and test completion.
• Review unit tests created by Software Developers.
• Assist with the implementation of automated testing tools.

Requirements

• Education / Experience - Minimum of four years of related work experience with university degree or a minimum of five years of related work experience with a community college certificate. Experience designing and evaluating tests.
• Skills & Knowledge - Experience with software development lifecycle. This includes experience in software development, software testing, software design, and software process improvement activities. Familiarity and exposure to SW-CMM/CMMI strongly desired. Foundations in project management, PMP certification ideal, but not required. Experience programming Basic and/or C++. VB, JAVA would be considered an asset. Unix experience, and knowledge of software testing and test automation tools. Diagnostic and problem solving skills. Programming skills are desirable.
